We had to cancel our home security anniston coverage last month as we are trying to trim our expenses any place we can. This was a tough one for us to cut but sometimes you have to do what you have to do. It was either this or our Direct TV and with 2 kids in the house the TV of course won. I hated canceling it because i often travel and my wife and kids are home alone. The good thing is that the alarm will still work but it is just not monitored. I simply hope that commissions pick up so that we can reinstate the coverage.
What is it you are cutting back on? i would love to hear from my readers on unique ways that they are able to shave a couple dollars here or there. Please leave a comment if you have a a great way to save some money. I know I am not the only one trying to save a couple bucks.

I’m a middle school teacher, which means that I have kids at their most awkward stage. Middle school is tough on everyone, that’s a commonly known fact. So I have to be even more careful I think than teachers who teach younger kids. I’m what you could call a stylish person, but I like to make sure that I’m well covered up while I’m teaching. I think you should do that anyway in any professional situation, but especially as a teacher around a bunch of pubescent boys.
Each year before the school year starts, I like to freshen up my wardrobe with a few key pieces. While I was looking up some good online clearance sales to take advantage of, I ran across the website http://internet.clear.com. After I looked through it a little bit I decided to change over my home internet service to it.
I really do love back to school fashion. It’s so exciting! I already have a whole new slew of outfits ready for this year that are really cute, but definitely conservative and classroom appropriate.
Politics, Entertainment, Travel, Sports, and another ten headlines composed the news menu on CNN.com on this day, July 27, 2009. People doing the “Moonwalk” and the death of a former “Idol” contestant were apparently much more important than the reason why all of us can read and count: Yes, indeed, you guessed it! No headline about schools, good or bad, about outstanding or so-so teachers or superintendents. Nothing related to learning except maybe the exciting news regarding the ineffable Professor Gates trying to break into his own home. I even searched the smaller headlines, hoping against hope that some enterprising reporter would talk about the return to school that will take place next month; no such luck.
I even searched the 15 most popular news: Sara Palin’s last day in office, the death of a former boxing champ, more women watching porn (believe it or not), France’s President Sarkozy fainting near Versailles (as if we should care), and the four most important health problems for kids.
But nothing even resembling education, unless the kids’ health problems can be solved through education…of the parents. Just to be fair, I looked at Yahoo’s homepage to check on the latest regarding education: just maybe, Secretary of Education Arne Duncan had more information regarding the 4 billion dollars allocated to the “Race to the Top”, supposedly to enact reform in public schools throughout the land. But again, this noteworthy news found no follow up interest among the media’s elite. Yahoo’s page had the usual sensationalistic (ugly word) medley of earthshaking information: Alice in Wonderland (pretty old news isn’t it?), the Tour de France (only because Armstrong was in there), Vera Farmiga (never heard of this person), and, of course, the unending debate on healthcare.
Again, to be perfectly fair, I opened the BBC site to check on our language cousins: Killings in Nigeria, Sarkozy again (sacrebleu!), the theft of a German minister’s car in Spain (who cares again?), and some playful dolphin interrupting a woman’s swim (earth shattering indeed); nothing regarding education and/or learning in the land of Shakespeare. So I decided to take a look at local papers, the ones nobody ever hears about except, for example, the 20,000 inhabitants of Newtown, Pa: It’s called the “Bucks Local News” and there, at last, I found an article on education: a local athlete and outstanding academic student named Tyler with a 3.70 GPA obtained a scholarship from the local American Legion. So maybe small communities know what’s important a little better than national news organizations?
Perhaps because local news applies directly to our daily life we give it more attention. At the national level, the media coverage of what they consider newsworthy is really superficial nonsense for the most part; for example, the Palin’s farewell speech loaded with insults, innuendos and disconnected rants. Or the Gates affair, which drags on and on even after President Obama acknowledged that his comments were a little too strong. In fact, we have become a society interested in the superficial, the scandalous and the glitzy, and that doesn’t include the stupid which can be applied to some of the new television comedies. Whenever the paparazzi come up with a “sensational” photo of a budding, immature, and sexy singing star, people rush to buy the scandalous magazine. Music has also evolved towards bad taste and loud noises. Our children, for the most part, have never heard of Mozart, Gershwin or Leonard Bernstein. When a teacher in high school asks for a current event homework, most students look at each other with a blank stare; they do not follow the important news, the ones that will affect their future, their jobs and their own families.
Were we different, 10, 20 or 30 years ago, when we just emerged from teen years? I remember listening to the news on the radio at a very young age, even though I didn’t relate most of it to my world. But there was some discussion at the dinner table among my parents and cousins; they were concerned about the Cold War and the awful possibility of a nuclear holocaust. Even in high school, my buddies and I talked about some serious stuff, aside from the daily fluff. Our vacations were spent working to help our families. Our musical tastes included classical and pop. We (gasp) read books, lots of books, maybe because we didn’t have internet or television and we really felt the patriotism flowing in our arteries when we heard the national anthem. Today, I see crowds going to the beach on Memorial Day, forgetting the immense and sometimes ultimate sacrifice of thousands or our soldiers.
Education should be the main topic of our modern media; learning helps bring down the dropout rate, helps reduce health costs (fewer obese and diabetic people), contributes to less welfare and Medicaid which are used by so many as a crutch to avoid their social responsibility. But learning must include moral, social and economic values, and these must start in the family from day one. It stands to reason therefore that education also starts with the parents. When I see teens having babies, I shudder at the idea that these kids having kids have no idea on how to educate their progeny. But isn’t our society the real culprit by relegating education topics to the back pages?
I was born many years ago in Geneva, Switzerland, where I learned various languages, including English – the Brit type – before emigrating to America where I served in the Army for 3 years. My Mexican wife and I now live in Brownsville, Texas, where I teach special education in a local high school.

A strong headline is very important as it is the very first thing that your target clients would see and read first in your booklet printing for example. The success of your custom booklets would be determined whether your target clients would want to read more after seeing your headline. So what does a strong headline do for you? But first of all, have you checked your headline lately? If not, you might want to check now especially if you are not getting the results you want from your marketing efforts. It is the perfect time to take a closer look at how you write your headline or what kind of headline you are providing your target clients. Having a strong headline does matter – a lot. So before you start anything with your booklet printing copy, begin with writing a strong and powerful headline. What is a headline? As mentioned earlier, the headline is the very first thing that your target readers would see when they get hold of your booklet printing for example. Hence, a headline that is poorly written can drive away a prospect. On the other hand, a solid and powerful headline can raise curiosity and excitement about your material. It certainly can determine whether your target reader would want to read the rest of what you have to say in your marketing tool.A headline’s impact is immediate. It takes less than five seconds to read and get the gist of your headline. So within that very short time, your headline should already be able to capture your target clients’ attention, raise their curiosity, and convince them that your content is worth further reading. When your headline fail to do these things then your marketing collateral will end up at the bottom pit of the trash can. Clearly, the kind of headline you provide in your marketing tool makes a huge difference on how your target clients will accept your efforts or not.So what’s in a great headline? For one thing, a great headline grabs the attention of your target audience. It appeals to their curiosity, as well as to what they believe is worthy of their time and effort. Just one look and your target clients can already determine whether a marketing tool has value or not with the headline.Secondly, a headline can generate positive response if you can make an offer they cannot resist. And what can make your target clients become interested in what you have to say? The benefits. What’s in it for them? What can they get if they read your message? A strong headline can already tell them whether they can benefit from your content or not.For these reasons, a strong headline is indeed an important element to have when marketing with your collaterals such as your print brochures, custom booklets or even a hang tag. Therefore, make it a habit to provide your marketing tools with a strong headline. Because a weak one is really not an option.

I love my job, and I love the company I work for, so you can imagine that I was absolutely thrilled when they offered me to opportunity to take on a management opportunity within my division. I eagerly listened as the Vice President for Business Development outlined my added responsibilites, and the added benefits of the positioning I was being offered. When he was finished telling me all of these things, he mentioned that if I was interested in the position and wanted to take it on, I would have to go back to school to get my Masters. He said that I would be allowed to take on the position, as long as I was enrolled in a Masters program, and would have four years to complete my degree.
I excitedly accepted the position, and went to work to find a school to begin pursuing my Masters. I needed to find a class where I could study online, since I would be juggling this new full time job, my family, and school work. I asked around to a few coworkers with Masters, and they all reccomended WaldenU.edu. They all told me how great Walden is, and how well it worked into their schedule.
I decided to learn about Walden to see if it would be the right fit for me, and I loved what I saw. Walden’s focus is on adult learners, and they are used to having students that have to balance the responsibilities of adult life with their responsibilities at school. Walden University’s online degree programs are diverse, allowing you to pick from many different majors and courses of study. Walden’s faculty are experts in their field too!
I am starting my classes next semester, and have already taken on my new job. I can’t wait to see what the future holds, both at work, and at school, at Walden!

Not surprisingly, teenagers are the ones now days that have more interest and involvement in celebrity gossip than that of the older generation. Sometimes its easier for them to be into the glamorous lives of celebrities then face the harshness of their own. But with the use of the Internet, it has given teens more access to sites that provide this kind of entertainment news and all the inside scoop that goes with it. Theres no more need to buy magazines or go to bookstalls for tabloids because all the information they need is on the Internet.
These kinds of gossip sites are not just solely for being updated on favorite icons. Teens will actually gain a learning experience from visiting these sites. How? Another thing teens are involved in is fashion. They can go to these sites and find what the latest trends are and the type of clothing that celebs are wearing. When they see that their favorite celebrities are wearing a certain style of clothing, they will actually learn to imitate it in a unique way that is their own. Now there isnt anything wrong with being conscious of fashion. It only becomes too much when it controls your life.
Besides fashion, there is also another area in which celebrity gossip sites can have a positive effect on teens, depending on who they are. They can provide inspiration. Some of these icons know how to set goals and reach them. They are where they are at today because they did what many cant do. This can be inspirational for many and can help the young generation strive to accomplish hopes and dreams they may have. There is nothing wrong with the aspiration to be in the position of a celebrity. Some of them lead very healthy and good lives and are in a good position to help others. Many critics point out that most of the entertainment news and gossip sites that provide this information actually do more good for teens than it does bad. Sure, you have all the gossip of celebs that live carefree lives, get in brawls, abortions, pregnancies, and all sorts of illegitimate affairs. But it all comes down to the point of view of the person viewing the gossip and how they take it. For instance, a person viewing this type of news would be better off with the mind set that they must not do this type of stuff. Rather, have a goal of what you want to become and what you dont want to become.
Whether you hate it or love it, celebrity gossip cant be ignored anymore. It has carved its way into society and is lurking around every corner. As any parent may get concerned with their teen being too involved in entertainment news and gossip, there is a way to balance it out. It is going to be really hard to keep the flashing world of glamour away from teens who are continually trying to find their place in life.
Although there are many sites that provide Celebrity Gossip , finding the right place to get this information is important. That is why Empire State Media is providing all the best Entertainment News and gossip possible to fulfill all their fans desires.

If you have even been camping you know how important tarps can be to your trip. You have a tarp for under the tent, one for under your sleeping bag, one to cover your outside gear. It is a great way to protect everything around the camp from a sudden down pour or even that morning dew. Tarps can make or break your trip.
I have found that the best place to find good tarps is online from one of the many providers. They generally provide a much better price and have a wider selection then your local box store. The local stores normally only carry the cheap ones and t he really good ones. There are so many different kinds of tarps that when you get online you wouldn’t believe the option you have. Happy shopping and enjoy your next camping trip.
