The Disaster

Post contributed by Hilton Miranda

When I moved into this house, I didn’t think I would have to move for a long time. I loved the place, and planned on spending many years here. I had no idea it would turn out to be a total disaster. Right after I moved in I realized the roof needed to be replaced. I didn’t think that was such a big deal, so I went ahead and made the repairs. After that, things just kept on popping up. If it wasn’t the plumbing, it was the refrigerator. After the refrigerator was replaced, then the air conditioning broke. After a year of this I finally gave up. I knew moving would be a pain, but I couldn’t stand it anymore. I have very little patience, so I gave up. I talked to me real estate broker and put the place on the market, and rented a small apartment. I went to cleartvbundle.com and got my bundle transferred, and I was out of the place in a few weeks. I was lucky to sell the house fast, but I took a big financial hit.

Reliable Reviews

A friend of mine decided to start a review website where people could go and leave honest feedback whether it be good or bad. You can leave ageless reflection moisturizer reviews
all the way to horror story reviews on that bad product you got stuck with. He had recently bought a home classics heirloom quilt online from so called Amish and it ended up being a sheet made in China that was no where close to what it was represented to be.

He didn’t want the site to be a bashing are though so re requires you to leave a positive review for each negative one you leave. This way the site should remain neutral in all senses of the word. You might leave a a positive review on how great the latest configuration hp laptop was and the benefits of the update. But you can not be a “negative nancy” without being a “positive Paul” as well. I like the idea and it will be interesting to see if it takes off or not.

Cousins

I come from a very large family. My dad is the oldest of eleven children. Although my dad was the oldest, the third child in his family was the first to have a grandchild for my grandparents. Her name was Vivian, named after an aunt in the family. Thirteen days after Vivian was born, I was born. We grew up very close to each other. Even though we did not live in the same town, we always managed to spend a lot of school holidays together. Every summer we spent at least two weeks together. Vivian now lives in Boise, and we are grown with families of our own. But at least once a year we get together and have a great time eating wonderful food and watching old movies on direct.tv. Sometimes when we have not seen each other in a long time, one of us will email the other, and it is as if we just talked the day before. We always pick up where we left off. I guess we are best friends until the end. I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Never Hired Movers Before

Written by my friend Lino Brown

I have never hired movers before this last move but I can tell you one thing, and that’s that I will never move again without hiring them! Having been here many things so much easier and I didn’t have to exhaust my husband and all my friends by asking them to pick up all of our heavy furniture for a full day. I’m so excited that after everything that moved into the house was settled all I had to do was decide what paint colors I wanted for the walls and what we were going to eat that first night in the new house. I still need to go to http://www.direc4u.com/al/t/tuscaloosa/ and get TV service for the house and I should probably talk to the principle at my kids new school to find out whether or not we are registered correctly. We only moved one tell me over though, so this really wasn’t a huge ordeal. The point of this post is to tell everyone out there that movers are 100% worth it!

Moving Here

Guest post from: Natalie Walter

When we moved in here I was all about security. I wanted to know the home security system features and where the locks hooked in and what the best escape routes were from every room in the event of a fire. I think it’s because I had never lived in an actual house before, only a condo, and knowing I’d be staying at home with the baby all day in a stand alone house while my husband was at work was tough to think about. I love being a mother and knowing what my day is going to entail and I have to say that it’s become a lot easier since we moved into a bigger space. There were definitely days I wanted to go crazy living in the condo because it was really, really small for the three of us but I pushed through and I’m glad I did so I could afford a bigger house at the end of it. I wish I had had this outlook from the get go so it didn’t seem to take so long!

My Vet

I had my annual vet appointment last week and saw that they had changed their vet scrubs.  I have been going to the same place for all three of my dogs and they have never changed their scrubs before.  I at first thought that I ran into the wrong place.

When I talked to the doctor, he had mentioned that he found some great patterns that he loved at http://www.blueskyscrubs.com/categories/Scrubs/Scrubs-for-Men/ and just could not pass up on the opportunity.  He also felt that it is gave the practice a fresh new feel.

Many vets do this as their clients get older and they need to bring in new ones with younger animals.  The scrubs were very colorful and fun. I can see how the kids would love them.

Well Sam checked out great and loved the scrubs as well.  We are good for another year!

Savings Resolutions

New Years Eve is a time of setting goals and resolutions, most of which will ultimately be about saving money and getting out of debt.

So what is the best way to start saving cash? Why do we need to start saving cash? The answers are simple yet often not discussed enough, so today I wish to chat about the importance of saving cash and diversifying your investments so that you hold different investments that are not all in one basket.

What is Saving Cash?
Saving cash does not mean storing a suitcase full of money under your bed, instead it means saving money in a bank or term deposit that is raw cash, no risk at all – as good as having money under your bed yet a lot safer in the hands of an international bank.

Different ways to Save Cash

  • Saving Cash by utilizing Term Deposits
  • Saving Cash by using High Interest Savings Account
  • Saving Cash by saving your coins before you deposit or deposit the money you save with your Savings.com coupons.
  • Saving Cash by burying your money in the backyard (lol)

Benefits of Saving Cash
Here are the top three benefits of Saving Cash as part of your overall investment scheme;
Extremely low risk, if any at all. Your money is safe in the bank.
Diversify your invesments so you don’t suffer in economic uncertainty.
Offset your mortgage with your savings.

Who should start Saving Cash?
So who is cash saving right for? Well in my opinion, everyone! Why not start a little nest egg and build a regular savings plan? It will have positive tax outcomes for you and also help build that rainy day fund for times when you are really needing cash.

Trends in home decor

If  you are a homeowner you know what you like about your house and what you would change.  Most houses are stuck in a certain decade based on when they were built.  That is unless your house is fairly new.  Right now most homes use mosaic tile in the entrance area and some form of glass mosaic tile in the bathrooms.

The reason glass tiles have become so popular is they look like a million bucks on a penny budget.  They are also very easy to install and care for.  They are like the green shag carpet was in the 60′s.  Forty years from now people will likely want to rip this stuff out as it looks dated but right now it is the rage.

If you are doing any home renovations you should make sure to take a peek in the tile area.  It is a fraction of the cost of wood and lasts longer too.

Google and Hostgator

I recently read an article about Google and hostgator teaming up and giving free hosting to small business in Indiana.  They did this to encourage underdeveloped companies to consider other forms of marketing such as a website or a blog.  With the internet being one of the main sources of finding new businesses it is critical for business to embrace the new technologies that are available to them.  If they do not then one of their competitors will and they will fall behind.

The free web hosting is good for a year and I also believe it is an opportunity for both Google and Hostgator to tap into new customers.  Like people who never had HD TV saying they do not need it.  Give it to them for a little and then take it away.  They will pay to stay.  Lost leader, charity or a little of both?  I think its is a great program to help some new people understand the power of being online.

Flu shot

This weekend I was driving back from the store and saw a sign advertising medicare part d and flu shots at the local Walgreen’s.  No appointment needed.  I heard the flu is horrible this year and it has already taken out a number of people at our office so I decided to get on the ball and get my flu shot ASAP.

It was great.  You simply walk in and say you want a flu shot, you wait maybe 5 minutes and pharmacy guy comes out, give you the shot and you are on your way.  I used to always wait and go to my doctor but now I will never do that again.  It is like pulling teeth to get an appointment.  Then you wait in the waiting room with 15 sick people coughing and sneezing.  Then it takes 2 secs to get your shot and 1 1/2 hours later you are out.

The minute clinic seems like a much better alternative.  I was also pleasently surprised to find out that my current insurance also covers the shot from the minute clinic – so it was also at no extra cost to me. Great!
